I'm going to break the fourth wall right now and address you all, out of diary format. I am so excited for all of the inquiry I am receiving about mediation from you guys! Today on my Instagram I asked if you had any questions, I received some incredible queries!! But I'll circle back to that in just a moment.
After finally getting to bed early last night, I was so much more refreshed waking up this morning. We implemented Jonni's suggestion of mediating after exercising, and while it was definitely harder to quiet the thinking mind, I can't even begin to describe the incredible and lasting buzz of energy I felt all day long.
He recommends that we commit to a non-negotiable 60 day challenge of mediating twice a day for 20 minutes, and I have never felt more ready to integrate this into my daily life. I wish my words could impress upon you the effects that even just the last 6 days of meditating twice a day have had on me. The clarity. The understanding. The ability to stay present, alert and focused. Not to mention the insane amount of inspiration and love that is flowing out of me!! Can you feel it?!
We spent the day really hashing out what the 3 Day Learn to Meditate Course that we're getting certified to teach will look like, and let me tell you, its absolutely fantastic! Comprehensive, both theoretically and practically, and available for every kind of student to gain life changing benefit from.
It feels like the days are going by so quickly, and I wish I could just grab the remote control of life and press pause. I'm doing my best to stay as present as possible and really appreciate every moment, every conversation, and every hug. Our group is just brimming with love, excitement and passion.
If you've never given yourself the wonderful gift of taking a training course or retreat in a subject that you're passionate about, I HIGHLY recommend it.
Caley and I have already begun to formulate an exciting plan to teach this material in a 3 day format, as well as integrating it into yoga retreats that will be offered globally!
For now, use the hashtag #HappyHeartsClub to share your personal stories of connection, growth, meditation, self love and well-being. I am so passionate about creating a reliable community that we can all draw upon for support. We are here to create and connect with one another. To inspire each other to be happier and more fulfilled.
And now we're getting ready to attend the 3 year anniversary of a New York based mediation club called The Big Quiet. I'm just jazzed on life. And I hope you are too.
Oh yea, circling back to the first paragraph up there. One of the questions that stood out to me today was "How do I make my mediation practice a daily habit?" which is a question we discussed today as well.
My advice to that would be to examine what your daily habits already are. What are your priorities? What is a non-negotiable to you, and why? And let me remind you to value your worth and to take the time to do the things that support your worthiness in this world. You deserve to be happy, clear, and light. By nature, this is who you are.
Taking 20 minutes out of your day is NOTHING. Its about how you approach it. Think of your mediation time as a sacred moment in your day FOR YOU. It is your most important meeting of the day (every day), with the most important person in your life... YOU!! Let it be a celebration. Reward yourself for meditating. Write about it, post about it. Find an accountability partner. Someone you can trust to push you to be the best version of yourself. We are here for each other!! The more you connect with yourself, the more easily and more meaningfully you'll be able to connect with others.
Hope that helps, and I love you dearly. See you tomorrow!
p.s. it's our first day off! Time to take cute photos in the city, eat some yummy food, and be outside!!
