As an artist, I am always intrigued by which colors I am drawn to. I definitely go in phases, sometimes (most times) completely omitting any color at all. (I love white & neutral hues best)
Lately, as my Instagram reflects quite clearly, I have been seeking out the color orange, alongside the cheery yellow. Did you ever eat rainbow sherbet ice cream as a kid? I'm basically channeling that.
So what is it about these colors?
The color psychology of orange is optimistic and uplifting, rejuvenating our spirit. In fact orange is so optimistic and uplifting that we should all find ways to use it in our everyday life, even if it is just snacking on a sweet, sticky tangerine.
The color yellow relates to acquired knowledge. It is the color which resonates with the left or logical side of the brain. Being the lightest hue of the spectrum, the color psychology of yellow is uplifting and illuminating, offering hope, happiness, cheerfulness and fun.
After delving into my dark shadows all throughout August, I feel, and my subconscious feels, like it is time to let the light in. I want to surround myself with all things that spark joy. All things that make me want to jump up and down with the excitement of a child.
