For those of you who tuned into my Instagram Live video with Sophie, aka @sophie.jaffe aka @philosophielove, this is the recipe for our beautiful / delicious / nutritious smoothie bowl! Enjoy!
Start with a liquid base, we used coconut milk straight out of a can, from Trader Joes. Made sure to keep those healthy fats in!
Pro tip: pre-peel + freeze your bananas for thick and creamy smoothies. We used one banana and a half.
Frozen Strawberries. Check.
Feel free to substitute with berries of your choosing!
Not pictured was the half pack of Sambazon Acai packs that we added after the strawberries.
The consistency you're looking for is a turn the blender upside down without anything falling out thickness. If you were watching, you saw me literally flip the blender upside down! I was pretty excited about it.
Next, decorate! Pour your smoothie base into a bowl and use whatever toppings you have, and be creative! For our smoothie bowl we used Bee Pollen, Granola, sweet cacao nibs, coconut shreds, dried watermelon seeds, and garnished with edible flowers. You can drizzle some superfood honey, or almond butter overtop, but we forgot because we were too excited to eat our beautiful creation!
